  1. Okay this podcast made me really appreciate the current podcast hosts! I really did not care for the different flavor it took on with the guests on this one. I just felt like it was ridiculous someone would be nay saying Cursed Child without having read it. Please keep your negative comments to yourself.

    1. Definitely agree, it bothers me when someone is going to trash something without having read it, experienced it, etc. Also, just flat out refusing to read it seems… rather silly, or immature in my opinion.

  2. Can somebody explain why everybody completely shut down Eric’s suggestion to call Emerson Spartz lol? Seemed like a harmless idea but they were almost offended by the possibility. Did they just think it would be dumb or what?

    1. I wondered THE EXACT same thing. That definitely felt weird. I asked about it on the patreon page when they posted the live version of this episode, but didn’t really get any answer. Someone commented that Emerson isn’t really involved with Mugglenet any more, and maybe that’s why.

      1. Yeah, maybe. It was just Andrew going “Oh God, no!” and Laura like “Yeahhh I’ll pass…” with that really exasperated tone that made me feel like they just hate him! Like damn, that was a strong reaction and Eric seemed taken aback. I just found out about the weird stuff with Ben Schoen that happened last year between him and that Buzzfeed girl too and Andrew and Laura made public comments about him being a bully or whatever….I don’t know what to think about all that, seems all is not well with our favorite Mugglenet peeps.

And then just add to that the kinda unnecessary gossip about Jamie at the beginning, and the negativity around Cursed Child as Julie mentioned in the other comment. Honestly, I really do not like the play either but Laura having such strong opinions about it without even reading it did turn me off a bit…like I completely get not reading it, I hated the early spoilers and reading the play didn’t change my impression much but it bugged me that she was mocking it more than anybody, and then throwing in an underhanded comment about OOTP and stuff made it feel like she was not really into this. I love Laura but it’s just we haven’t heard from her in awhile and she comes back with all this snarkiness about HP haha, like she woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something.

Throw in the slightly amusing but (at least for this podcast) pretty grotesque masturbation/rape/bestiality/fetus possession jokes and I have to say this was probably the oddest Mugglecast ever….happy (?) 300 episodes!

        1. Yeah, it makes me sad that there doesn’t seem to be the same love for Harry Potter that there used to be. It’d be nice to hear some positive comments about the new additions to Harry’s story and the Wizarding World from the Mugglecast team once in a while. It has all felt rather negative for quite some time now.

          1. I think it is precisely that love for Harry Potter that makes us hold the new material to a higher standard that it’s certainly not living up to. The hosts bash because they care, otherwise it would be “eh, it was okay.” And I want my podcasters as passionate as possible, so I’m happy with MuggleCast exactly as it is.

        2. I agree it was the oddest! I also forgot to speak to the Jamie bashing that really bothered me too. I was like in shock, disturbed, and angry all within this same podcast when normally I’m just feeling gleeful or intrigued to hear updates about HP. I really hope they realize they are doing a bit too much bashing, and to be cognizant of the tons of the podcast people actually enjoy which is usually positive (and my personal feelings are it was amped up with the guests from this time who have clearly become jaded)

  3. Great episode guys – I definitely burst out laughing a lot! I also think you guys did not think through the polyjuice thing enough. Imagine having polyjuice brothels…
