Episode 293: The Final Countdown

In the last episode before Andrew and Selina see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the group makes final predictions about what will happen in the play. We’re also joined by Hypable writer Brittany Lovely!

The Cursed Child has released photos depicting eight of the characters! We discuss these first looks at Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco Ginny, Albus, Rose, and Scorpius.
– The parallels between Harry in Sorcerer’s Stone and Albus in The Cursed Child (see photo above) are mesmerizing.
– Is Ginny getting pushed aside like she was in the movie?
– Is Rose a Hufflepuff? Her sweater suggests so.
– Are Albus, Rose, and Scorpius the new trio?
– Where did the “Severus” in “Albus Severus” go?
– Hermione has kept her last name, which is so nice to see.
– We make our final Cursed Child predictions — will any of us be right?
– Listener feedback addresses the lack of a Cursed Child audiobook as well as Felix Felicis.
– MuggleCast will be attending GeekyCon for their Cursed Child release party!

  1. I know I’m late with this comment. Also nobody seems to comment on the episodes – what am I missing, where does the discussion take place? Only on Twitter?
Anyway, on the topic of Felix Felicis: Maybe the potion is simply very difficult to make, so only Snape and Slughorn can do it. Slughorn is undecided until the very last second whether or not to fight Voldemort at all, and Snape doesn’t have the authority among those who fight on Harry’s side. If I was a Hogwarts student at that time and Snape offered me some strange looking liquid and said “Drink this”, I don’t think I would. It would be a mistake, obviously, but an easy mistake to make given the information everyone has regarding Snape at this point in the story.

    1. We only just launched the comments feature here on the site, so there isn’t much feedback to look at yet 🙂 Look at the most recent episodes and you’ll see more! Thanks for this feedback too!
